Would it not make sense if they had 0 Major League SERVICE time and they are in the minors they get a Minor League Contract, if 0 Major League service time and on 40-man/active roster they get a contract at the major league minimum? For example 2B Hoyt Wyatt.

It also make little sense for guys under 3 years service time, before arbitration eligibility, to have anything other than a major league minimum deal. ie; SP Zhi-gang Guao. In fact if you look at Guao's history he was awarded ay $480k 1 year contract on 11/13/2019 but was then assigned a $4.8m contract after our draft.

So, I have five or six guys I'll be waiving/DFAing.
Case 1. If they have previous major league service, they'll just go to my minors, still on the contract that was assigned, but off my 40-man.
Case 2. If they have no previous major league service, they'll be assigned minor league contracts. This will serve to get the very young prospects off the 40-man and not start using up options.

Is this correct?
