After a breakout year last year my SS (Mejia) suffered a career ending injury.  How do I get his salary removed from my payroll?

Also, now I'm looking for a 2b or SS.  I have Brian Wilson that can play either position at the Gold Glove level so I need someone who can play one of those positions.

I have enough salary cap room to afford a decent sized contract.  Willing to trade prospects or other players.

    Just FYI -
Our league rules give the owner the option to cancel Career Ending Injuries.  Otherwise, you can let Mejia retire.  Just let the commissioner know ASAP.

Thanks for that info.  What does it mean to "Cancel Career Ending Injuries"?  I can just act as though he never got it?  That seems to good to be true...

I just re-read that section in the rules.  I had read it before but didn't understand what it meant.  I get it now.  I would like to cancel the career-ending injury as he has a good contraact considering his production (4.0 WAR for only 1.5million).  I feel a little bad about doing it but don't want to be put at a competitive disadvantage by accepting  the CEI while other players don't.

Again - thanks Maine for reminding me of this rule.

Don't mention it.  One of the advantages of being a GM since the inception of the league:  you remember discussing all the rules.
I would send Rich an email ASAP to let him know you want to cancel Mejia's CEI. I think after a certain amount of time, it can't be cancelled anymore.

When I check on him it still says he is injured with a career ending injury.
