    5/5/2025: The Death Valley Assassins were dealt a severe blow when Leopoldo Aranha was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Tacoma Titans. After the game, the team trainer reported Aranha might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 29-year-old starting pitcher out for the rest of the season with a torn rotator cuff. They indicated it would take Aranha at least 7 months to heal.

    To date this season, Aranha has registered 7 starts, 1-3 won-lost mark, 7.41 ERA, 34 IP, 13 strikeouts and 8 walks. Opposing teams have hit .320 against him.
