A coalition of anonymous Maine business leaders has made a successful bid to acquire an NABL baseball franchise. Between them, they have succeeded in a wide variety of business ventures and may be on the verge of adding "professional baseball" to that list. A representative announced yesterday that they will purchase a new NABL franchise and base the major-league, as well as all minor league teams here in Maine.

"We hope to utilize this opportunity to create new economic and recreational opportunities for all Mainers," he said. But when asked where the franchise's home stadium would be built, and where the minor league teams would be based, he said, "those questions will be answered at a later time."

The rise of the NABL has given many smaller, micropolitan areas the chance to house a real major-league sports franchise, which would never have been possible under the MLB system. Cities like Asheville (NC), Charming (CA), Key West (FL), Missoula (MT) and Savannah (GA) have all capitalized and established their NABL franchises.

The owner's group representative also announced that the team would be nicknamed The Shipwrights. "This name," the owners said in a written statement, "pays tribute to the skilled tradesmen who built a critical segment of Maine's economy. Shipbuilding is a critical part of Maine's past, present and future. Maine's shipwrights built the vessels that carry American goods all over the world, as well as defend her coasts and fight her naval battles, and Maine-built ships have been doing this dating back to American colonial times."

The statement also said that the team's colors would be navy blue and green, which represent the land and the sea, and the importance of agricultural and marine resources to Maine's economy and identity. It also alluded to some additional announcements to be made in the near future.

Renowned Maine businessman George Schott has succeeded in a wide variety of business ventures: motorcycle sales, recreation and, of course, real estate. He may be on the verge of adding "professional baseball" to that list. Schott announced yesterday that he will own an NABL franchise and base the major-league, as well as all minor league teams here in Maine.
"We hope to utilize this opportunity to create new economic and recreational opportunities for all Mainers," he said. But when asked where the franchise's home stadium would be built, and where the minor league teams would be based, he said, "those questions will be answered at a later time."

Cities like Asheville (NC), Charming (CA), Key West (FL), Missoula (MT) and Savannah (GA) have all capitalized and established their NABL franchises.
Schott also announced that the team would be nicknamed The Shipwrights. "This name," he said in a written statement, "pays tribute to the skilled tradesmen who built a critical segment of Maine's economy. Shipbuilding is a critical part of Maine's past, present and future. Maine's shipwrights built the vessels that carry American goods all over the world, as well as defend her coasts and fight her naval battles, and Maine-built ships have been doing this dating back to American colonial times."
Schott's statement also said that the team's colors would be navy blue and green, which represent the land and the sea, and the importance of agricultural and marine resources to Maine's economy and identity.
It is also worth noting that there is no relation between George Schott and Marge Schott, who once owned the Cincinnati Reds and was a lunatic and a racist.

Good job- did you want George Schott to take over the team in 2020, correct? Keeping the original owner from 2010-2019.

all up to you- let me know which you want. Basically the owners will run the teams themselves and decide to hire GMs in 2020. As there will be none in th game until then.
