Detroit Mustangs 2022 Deadline Block
The Mustangs are tearing down and rebuilding, so everybody over 30 is available. I will be looking for talent-for-talent, or at least talent-for-potential. Here are some of the top names:
AVAILABLE
SP Nate Coffey -- 32, $6,000,000 -- good mid-to late rotation or bullpen guy
MR Jeremy Adams -- 35, $1,072,000 -- may be aging, but is still a strong bullpen anchor
MR Merlin Carwright -- 31, $2,170,000 -- another potential bullpen anchor
MR Pedro Martinez -- 31, $850,000 -- talented, inexpensive reliever that can spot start
C Jose Costello -- 30, $8,000,000 -- the rare fast catcher and doesn't strike out much
2B David Fields -- 31, $2,430,000 -- a good bat, great baserunner, and very good defender
3B Ivan Mireles -- 30, $5,000,000 -- excellent both at the plate and in the field
LF Jerry Krause -- 30, $12,500,000 -- 2020 Silver Slugger winner, still a phenominal talent with years remaining in his career.
UNTOUCHABLES:
C Jean-Marie Gaillard
1B Malcolm Metcalf
SS Ivan Valverde
SP Marcus Welch
SP Jesus Soto (A)
LF Roberto Cruz (R)
And anyone I've traded for recently (within the last game month)
I'm looking for prospects and/or young players ready for the majors (or a year or two away).
Again, anyone in my organization not listed under "UNTOUCHABLES" is available for the right price, but I am looking to get younger. There's a lot of talent in the names listed above, so it may be worth letting go of a few younger guys, especially to push your team over the top.
