I remember that; I was watching that game on TV. Eric Davis was my favorite player. I tried to name my son "Eric the Red" Palin or Eric Davis Palin...my wife didn't care for that. Eric Davis was one of the most efficient base stealers of all time. His 25/80 and 35/50 seasons pre-steroid were tremendously impressive, especially when you consider that he never played more than 135-ish games in those seasons.
Note Ray Knight takes a swing once the umpire has ahold of Davis...guess I would wait till then too, cause Davis was ripped.
